Artist's Comments
Comission undertaken for Angry Monkey Inc [link] a comic mailorder website based in Derby.
The brief was to produce 4 pieces of art based around a Chimp mascot described as a "Monkey Butler" at the pitch. (Strictly speaking Chimps are Apes and not Monkeys but that's neither here nor there). This ape/monkey isn't particulary Angry but it was agreed upon with the site owners Dan and Niall that a variety of Chimps expressions was the way to go (there's another piece that needs going up here with 3 far more exaggerated expressions for instance). Anyway, this ape took far too long to crack out and some of the dark tones are in the wrong place as I did'nt think it through enough to remember a fixed light source. |

Everyone likes monkey butlers. I wouldn't worry too much about having overlooked a fixed light source, it's not something that I ever remember to do in my comics. (Not that that's a good thing...)
