The page that took too long... I'm kind of happy with the first panel as it adds much needed backgrounds and scenery to the pages overall but this page is still weak in concept and over worked. I wanted to have a cool visual concept for each page but this is just 3 standard panoramic panels.

At some point during the roughs stage I tried to make the bottom two panels act like cut away designs of the tube trains interior in a similar vein to the cutaway designs you used to get in Thunderbirds annuals. I could never quite execute that properly so you're left with a weird half way compromise.

The proportions of the figures in relation to the scale of the tube train carriage's is...yeah. By that point in the pencilling stage the whole thing had become a case of trying to pull off visually interesting poses and make it still seem fluid in terms of motion. I salvaged some of that in the inking stage but it's ultimately a mixed bag.

Great to see this S.O.B. of a page done and dusted. It looks fantastic but I know the blood, sweat and tears that went into it and as someone who knows a thing or two about it, you're way, way too hard on yourself. What you call compromises, I call good calls. This is larger-than-life, looney tunes action done in full-on comix arthouse style. It'll take a while but one day you'll look back on this page with pride.

The Looney Tunes thing was definitely intentional and that's the whole strip in a nutshell: it's a Road Runner cartoon for a 2000AD audience. Comix Arthouse? It's a lofty comparison but I'm not sure I'd fit into that demographic in either the terms of its audience or the creators that make those sort of comics (I'm too low brow for their liking in my experience).

Cheers & lovely man, once this is all done and I've got a few more pages of The Yorkshire Cowboy under my belt I'll have to get back to you about that Time Dive idea I ran by you at Thought Bubble.
