My contribution to George Beedham's The Mighty Jambo [link] a superhero comic about Britains most powerful condiment based hero!

The next storyline is a collaboration between 6 artists drawing 2 pages each. George has written a section where two of the main leads, Cheezar and Wrath, fall through multiple dimensions with us providing the visuals. The idea being that they visit each artists own characters universes.

I've always been an odds and sods comics artist, always providing filler material for things when it's needed and thus had difficulty in providing my own established fictional universe. Instead I opted to draw the "final universe" which is essentially a comic book graveyard with panels falling into nothingness and no sound to carry over etc.

This took about 3 weeks to do which is fast for me. It was scanned by my mate Kate www.ktcoope.deviantart.com and photo referencing was provided by my mate Jordan when required.

For the record, a lot of the inspiration for this came from Scott McClouds Zot!

This came out so well, I feel priveleged to have seen it in the making. Seriously great inking, some of those lines have a lighter than air touch. While I know he wasn't an inspiration for the piece, I still get a very nice Michael Allred vibe from it. Is this in line for a good hard colouring?

It never got coloured due to time constraints and because I wanted to have a sterile atmosphere to the whole thing. That said, it was the only section of the storyline not in colour so i'm open to any offers.

Wow, really, that is a nicely done page there. Love the composition. Your style has changed so much and then again not at all.

Cheers man. I was utterly obsessed with the composition and the anatomy. I'd pour over anatomy books and rough out the layout again and again in biro in my notebook.

As for the style, I get bored too easily and try different things in each strip but the technique changes at a much slower pace.
